Pittsburg awarded $3 million for roadway safety improvements

by The 100 Companies

The City of Pittsburg was recently awarded two grants from the Department of Transportation Highway Safety Improvement Program totaling $3,343,920.

The funds will be used for crosswalks and other safety upgrades at six intersections along Crestview Drive and a separate, citywide effort to improve signs and striping on certain arterial streets. These grants will go a long way to improve safety and visibility of road markings in the City.

“These grants support the City’s efforts to improve the visibility of signs and road markings throughout the City,” said Richard Abono, Director of Public Works/City Engineer. “Safety is our top concern.”
