Pittsburg receives funding for zero emission transportation

by The 100 Companies

The Contra Costa Transportation Authority, in partnership with the cities of Pittsburg and Richmond and Marin Clean Energy, has been awarded over $2 million in grant funds from the California Energy Commission Electric Vehicle Ready Communities Grant Program to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through support of the electrification of transportation.

The City of Pittsburg’s $180,000 share of this grant will be used to increase public access to electric vehicle charging stations and electric bicycles through grant partner MCE. The money will also help Pittsburg to develop and implement an electric vehicle repair training program though the workforce development program, Future Build Pre-Apprentice Program.
