Pittsburg got the green light for a $4.5 million grant to build new bicycle and pedestrian trails near public transit. Of the $4.5 million, $3.87 million was granted by One Bay Area Grant 2, making it the largest grant in the city’s history.

Under the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) connectivity project, 1.5 miles of new trails and pathways will connect with Pittsburg Center, providing residents safer station access.

This work is underway in parallel with the Pittsburg Moves project, which aims to increase walking/biking in the community by improving accessibility and safety between housing, schools, BART and commercial areas.
