Access to internet is an issue that many people in Pittsburg, and all over the Bay Area, are facing. The problem was highlighted during COVID-19 when schools were dismissed and distance learning began to take place at home.
As California is still in shelter in place, schools resumed this fall through the distance learning model. As districts across the state have been evaluating ways to minimize the digital divide, Pittsburg’s Gateway Rotary and community members stepped up to bridge the digital divide in Pittsburg with a $22,000 donation to the District.
