by The 100 Companies

Since 2017, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has granted a total of $1,100,000 to the City of Pittsburg to fund property assessments, cleanup, sustainability, reuse and more for underutilized and possibly contaminated properties otherwise known as “brownfields.”

The goal of the Community-wide Assessment and the Multipurpose Grant is for the City of Pittsburg and private property owners to work together to help clean and redevelop brownfield sites with the intention that after redevelopment, there will be an increase in economic opportunities and quality of life in the city.
