Remembering Pearl Harbor in the East Bay

by The 100 Companies

On Saturday, Dec. 7, residents of the East Bay saw a bright light shining on Mount Diablo to honor the victims of Pearl Harbor.

The attack changed the course of history by drawing the United States into World War II and was extremely significant to the East Bay. Many cities soon became home to military bases, as residents were sent around the world for the war effort.

Today, this red light serves as a reminder to the lives lost on that infamous day, the many lives lost during the war and the impact the war had on the East Bay.
