Camp Stoneman celebration

by

At the height of World War II, Camp Stoneman was the largest troop staging area on the West Coast. During this time, Pittsburg became a bustling town with taverns, theaters, night clubs and more to serve the thousands of troops waiting for deployment.

It has been 65 years since Camp Stoneman was decommissioned, and to honor the nearly 1.5 million soldiers who were staged here in Pittsburg, the city will be hosting a three-day event from Aug. 29 to Aug. 31.

Join us as we honor and celebrate the heroes of Camp Stoneman and the history of Pittsburg.
