Trip of a lifetime

In collaboration with the Pittsburg Unified School District, the City of Pittsburg sent a student delegation to Shimonoseki, Japan, for a cultural learning experience.

Adventures included visiting an ancient Shinto shrine, exploring the Chofu Garden and experiencing culture and everyday life in Japan.

Upon returning, one student said, “This trip was a once in a lifetime opportunity … I made a lifelong friendship with my host family and already miss them. I will forever be grateful for this life-changing opportunity and I cannot wait to go back”.

Our students did an amazing job representing their schools, city and nation.
