Pittsburg PD joins statewide operation to combat human trafficking

On Jan. 29, in conjunction with Human Trafficking Awareness Month, Pittsburg Police Department personnel participated in a statewide human trafficking operation. Operation Reclaim and Rebuild is an annual multi-agency initiative focused on rescuing victims of human trafficking, providing victims with much-needed services and identifying and arresting their captors.

This year, the Pittsburg PD joined the Contra Costa County Human Trafficking Task Force, and over 100 agencies throughout California to combat human and sex trafficking. With more than 450 arrests and 39 rescues made throughout the statewide operation, Operation Reclaim and Rebuild is a prime example of how individual law enforcement agencies can successfully work together.
