Traditional Mardi Gras dessert

by The 100 Companies

Mardi Gras is traditionally celebrated as the last day to enjoy certain foods prior to the Lenten season. Celebrated across the world, people indulge in delicacies ranging from fried food to pancakes. However, one treat with global roots that is enjoyed throughout Europe and North America is the king cake.

King cake, made from a brioche-like dough, is decorated with purple, yellow and green sugar. Traditionally, it contained a surprise that decided who would be the “king” for that day.

If you want to add a traditional and yummy dessert to your Mardi Gras party, consider making a king cake.
