Pittsburg Power Company’s Future Build program was one of 20 organizations nationwide to be awarded $200,000 by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Future Build partners with nonprofits and the Pittsburg Adult Education Center to provide unemployed and underemployed East Contra Costa County residents with training in construction, building trades, solar installation and hazardous waste over 16 weeks.

Trainees get hands-on experience through installing solar panels, improving public recreational facilities and more.

Future Build’s success is demonstrated by its community commitment and 90% post-graduation employment rate. To learn more about this program and upcoming cohorts, visit Future Build’s website.
