Safety improvements are coming to the Delta De Anza Regional Trail thanks to a grant Pittsburg applied for from the Metropolitan Transportation Commission.
The Pittsburg City Council unanimously accepted the grant earlier this month and the grant’s match amount of $507,777 will be split among Pittsburg, Bay Point, Antioch and Contra Costa County.
“This project will primarily look at the crossings,” said Pittsburg Public Works Director/City Engineer John Samuelson according to the East Bay Times.
“There are several crossings … that have been identified as areas of concern and this project will be able to address some of those safety concerns.”
