On May 6, the Pittsburg City Council voted to adopt the city’s comprehensive general plan update, “Envision Pittsburg.”
The general plan functions as a blueprint for the city’s development, as well as its economic future, and sets forth goals and policies for everything from land use to traffic and bicycle/pedestrian infrastructure to resource conservation.
“This is a document the City of Pittsburg can and should be proud of,” says Pittsburg Mayor Juan Antonio Banales.
California municipalities are required to maintain a general plan and undergo a comprehensive update every 20 years. Pittsburg’s last comprehensive update was in 2001.
